The entire Pick Up Artist community has been making headlines for several years now. Neil Strauss infiltrated the community and wrote a book about it called The Game. The book detailed information on various members of the “PUA” community and followed a particular luminary in that scene called Mystery. That was 2005. Since then, multiple books have been spawned, websites, a subreddit and even a reality TV show.
The whole thing is pretty surreal, but fascinating to watch if you’re a hobbyist spectator of popular culture. The PUA community really seems to appeal to nerdy, introverted guys that are sure they could bag that perfect 10 with just a few tricks and a little more confidence.
